Copiapoa grandiflora is a desirable and less commonly offered species known for its larger flowers and classic Atacama Desert character. Native to northern Chile, this Copiapoa develops a solitary to slowly clustering body with a gray-green to lightly glaucous epidermis, accented by defined ribs and contrasting spination. When in bloom, it produces relatively large, bright yellow flowers that stand out beautifully against the muted body tones.
This is a single available specimen in a 3” pot that has outgrown its current container and is ready for transplanting into a larger pot or fresh mineral soil mix. It shows vigorous growth and strong overall health, making it a great candidate for continued development.
There is some minor, fully healed scarring near the base that is only noticeable upon close inspection. This does not affect the health or growth of the plant in any way and is purely cosmetic—common in mature or actively growing Copiapoa. The plant is otherwise in excellent condition and well-established.
Copiapoa grandiflora thrives in bright light, excellent drainage, and with restrained watering, closely mirroring its native coastal desert environment. With proper care, it will continue to develop character and reward the grower with impressive blooms.
A great opportunity to acquire a healthy, actively growing specimen of this attractive species—ideal for collectors who appreciate both form and flower.
